Welcome to the detailed description of the Certikin 3/4Hp Impellor ‘Old Type’ – No 17261-4, also known as the Aquatron Pump. This product is a crucial component in pool maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency for your pool system. Let’s delve into the features, benefits, and unique characteristics of this high-quality impellor.
The Aquatron Pump has undergone an evolution from the MK II to the MK III style, with the transition occurring in July 1994. In the realm of Certikin Spares, the MK II is affectionately labeled as the ‘Old Type,’ while the MK III is dubbed the ‘New Type.’ To determine the version of your pump, check the grey sticker located at the returns end. If the serial number ends in ‘N,’ you are in possession of a ‘New Type’ pump.
An essential distinguishing feature between the ‘New’ and ‘Old’ impellors lies in the measurement of the dimension on the impellor’s inlet opposite to the thread. The ‘Old Type’ impellor boasts a measurement of 44mm, while the ‘New Type’ extends to 54mm, providing an immediate visual cue for identification.
Furthermore, differentiation between the 1.5HP and 2HP ‘Old Type’ impellors is discernible through the shape of the fins within the impellor. The 1.5HP impellor showcases curved fins, while the 2HP variant displays fins with a distinct flat section, catering to specific horsepower requirements with precision.
When embarking on the quest to acquire a capacitor for your Aqwuatron pump, meticulous attention must be paid to identifying the motor type. Is it a Lafert motor or a Certikin motor? A MK II pump is equipped with a Lafert motor, and conversely, a MK III is furnished with a Certikin motor, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration into your pool system.
