Liner underlay is a crucial component when it comes to achieving a flawless finish for your newly lined pool. The Certikin Liner Underlay Tape, measuring 50 meters in length and 50mm in width, is designed to provide that extra layer of protection and cushioning that your pool lining needs to maintain its integrity over time.
Whether you have a site-lined pool or a bag-lined pool, using liner underlay or foam can make a significant difference in the performance and longevity of your pool’s lining. This underlay tape not only offers a slight cushioning effect but also serves to protect the rear of the lining, ensuring that your pool remains in top condition for years to come.
One of the key benefits of the Certikin Liner Underlay Tape is its ability to contribute to a smoother pool shell surface. By adding this underlay tape to your pool, you can minimize imperfections and create a more even and aesthetically pleasing finish.
The 8mm foam used in this underlay tape is cut to a width of 1.02 meters, making it suitable for standard wall depths. This foam provides additional protection and cushioning, especially in high-impact areas of the pool. While foam is typically used on walls, it is essential to note that on metal panel walls, felt should be used instead to prevent condensation build-up behind the liner.
Underlay felt, available in various grades, is a versatile option that can be used throughout the pool structure. The industry-standard 300g per m2 underlay felt can be purchased by the square meter for individual installations or in trade rolls of 200m2 for larger projects.
For those looking for a heavier-duty option, Certikin offers reinforced underlay felt, which weighs 375g per m2 and features a woven scrim for added rigidity. This type of underlay felt is more durable and easier to position on the pool shell planes, making it ideal for site-lining installations.
As part of their product range, Certikin also offers an economy felt option, which is lighter-weight at 250g per m2 and designed for smaller or more budget-friendly pools. This economy felt provides basic protection at a lower price point, catering to a wide range of pool owners.
In conclusion, the Certikin Liner Underlay Tape is a premium solution for enhancing the durability and appearance of your pool lining. With its protective properties, cushioning effect, and ability to create a smoother pool shell surface, this underlay tape is a wise investment for any pool owner looking to maintain the quality of their pool for years to come.

Certikin Liner Underlay Tape 50M X 50Mm
Liner underlay or foam is an essential extra for achieving the best possible finish for your newly lined pool. Suitable for site lined and bag lined pools, liner underlay or foam offers slight cushioning and protection to the rear of the lining and contributes a smoothing effect to the pool shell. Our 8mm foam is cut to a 1.02m (3′ 4-) width to suit a standard wall depth and offers extra protection and cushioning in these higher impact areas. Foam is generally used on walls only. It is recommended that on metal panel walls felt is used in place of foam as differentials in temperature can cause condensation built up behind the liner – felt will allow this moisture to percolate to the pool floor as opposed to sit behind the membrane.Underlay felt is suitable for all areas of a pool structure and is available in three grades. The industry standard 300g per m2 product is available by the m2 to suit individual installations or in trade rolls of 200m2 (100m x 2m) for multiple installations. Our reinforced underlay felt is a heavier duty (375g per m2) and includes a woven scrim which makes this felt more rigid and easier to position on the pool shell planes – it is also more durable and is commonly used on site lining installations (Certikin use this as standard when site-lining) and is available in full rolls of 50m x 2mOur new economy felt is a finer, lighter-weight (250g per m2), lower price product designed to offer basic protection on smaller or lower cost pools.
