Best silicone for professionals, is by far the easiest to apply and allows you to give a perfect finish. It also has better mould resistance than most other brands that holds off the staining other sealents get after a couple of years.

I have used many types of sealant to seal baths and showers and nothing is as good as the Dow Corning 785. It really does stick and is really easy to tool, it also keeps its colour. OK it may cost more than other brands but it is worth every penny, I use nothing else. A great finish is achieved by applying the bead then spraying it and the surrounding contact surfaces with soapy water solution then using a simple ice lolly stick draw the bead. The excess sealant does not stick to the adjacent areas because of the soapy water, it just stays on the stick A great tip from a professional tiler PS Because it sticks so well …….. removing excess when dry is hard work so avoid leaving excess to dry.

I had to reseal my shower enclosure after it started to leak a little. We live in a hard water area and the shower suffers for that, its hard to keep clean and the hard water seems to find ways through the sealant eventually. Last time I did this was 2016, using the same product. Had a bit of a nightmare last time tbh. So this time I bought one of those silicone tools and used the 8mm one. All Id say is that it goes off way too quickly, it says tool within 5 mins, thats not long and then it starts to skin over. So it may be a good product but you really need more time especially if youre not doing this regularly. I ended up with one little 1 inch bit which was a bit crinkled but Id give myself 8.510 overall. One last tip, if you find an area is starting to go off and drag, lay some new silicone over it and youll have another chance at doing it right..

Good price and this goes off quickly. Sometimes thats not what you need but is brilliant when sealing waste pipe joints. No waiting for hours for it to cure. The initial cure should hold while full cure is some hours. Handy it comes in grey, white and clear.

Still my go to sealant. Goes on exceptionally smoothly and easy to shape afterwards. Takes a little while to fully cure but once it does creates an incredibly solid joint. I did my shower room with this over 3 years ago which is used daily and there isnt a single bit of mouldmildew on any of it and still as white as the day it went in. Well worth it over the budget types that I have used before I was recommended this one.
