My refrigerator in the RV was tripping a ground fault circuit breaker supplying power to the RV. When I unplugged the Heating Element from the control board, I was then able to get the breaker to stop tripping. I tested the element that I removed and it had the proper resistance. So I connected it back to the control board but let it dangle outside the trailer. Reset the breaker and was surprised that it started getting hot. I then killed the power and installed it back where it belongs and when the breaker was turned on it trip again. I then removed the element and used an ohm meter and checked from on of the leads to the outer metal element and found that it read approximately 2Meg except for a small area near the top. It read about 200 ohms. So I decided to order a new one to see how it read. It did not have a 200 ohm reading so I installed it and now the breaker doesnt trip and the refrigerator is as cold as ever. Maybe better. Thanks
