This is the exact replacement element for Hayward ComfortZone Pool Heaters mine is the CSPAX11, which uses two of these elements. My heater is from the late 1980s or early 1990s, so removing the old elements was quite a chore. I had to order a 1 12 socket because nothing I had would fit the nut and supply enough leverage in the limited confines of the heater. The socket on a breaker bar finally loosened the elements… but they were so deformed from years of service that it took me about an hour to get them out of their holes. Then another 30 minutes or so to get the new ones in properly… the gasket does not leave much room for the threads to meet, and 99 of my tries got the elements crossthreaded. Be REALLY careful when you install these since if you mess up the threads in the stainlesssteel tank, youre going to have to buy a new heater. Keep pushing down and twisting EVENLY until you KNOW the threads are properly aligned. If they feel engaged but stop turning quickly, theyre crossthreaded and youll need to back up and start over. Be patient I used a torque wrench but I had no idea what to torque them to, so I took them down to where the gasket was fully seated and significant pressure was required to keep turning them. After rewiring, I fired up the spa and the heater heated the spa water much more quickly than I anticipated… turns out that only one of my old elements had been working the second one had been burned out for years. Of course it now consumes the 11KW its designed for instead of 5.5KW using only one element. The electric meter spins fiercely but stops sooner since the water heats up faster.Mine were ordered from Backyard Pool Superstore. They had the best price and free shipping, and they arrived much quicker than the estimated arrival date. Very pleased with the service and Ill check them first for future part orders.
