Ensure your pool or spa water stays safe and free of bacteria with these highly effective chlorine granules. Perfect for maintaining the recommended free chlorine levels, these granules are a must-have for any pool or spa owner looking to keep their water crystal clear.
Designed for convenience and efficiency, these rapid-dissolving granules are a popular choice among pool and spa enthusiasts. With minimal impact on the pH levels of the water, you can trust these stabilised chlorine granules to provide consistent and reliable results.
Whether you have a hot tub or a swimming pool, these granules are versatile enough to cater to your specific needs. For hot tubs, aim for free chlorine levels between 3-5 mg/l (ppm), while swimming pools generally require levels between 1-3 mg/l (ppm). These granules are particularly suitable for shock dosing small above ground pools, ensuring thorough sanitation.
Each tub of granules is available in various sizes, ranging from 1Kg to 25Kg, depending on availability. This flexibility allows you to choose the quantity that best suits your pool or spa maintenance needs.
When it comes to application, following the recommended instructions is key to achieving optimal results. Maintain the pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6 to ensure the granules work effectively. If necessary, adjust the pH using our PH plus or PH minus products for best outcomes.
For spas, maintaining free chlorine residuals between 3-5mg/l (ppm) is crucial, while swimming pools should aim for levels between 1-3mg/l (ppm). When initially filling a spa, a shock or start-up dose of chlorine is recommended to kickstart the sanitization process effectively.
For application in pools or spas with temperatures above 20 degrees C, the granules can be added directly. In cases where the temperature is lower, pre-dissolving the granules in water is advised before adding them to the pool or spa to ensure proper dissolution.
Regular monitoring and adjustment of chlorine levels are essential for maintaining water quality. Repeat the dose application as needed to achieve the desired chlorine levels, especially after heavy pool or spa usage.
It is also recommended to shock dose your spa periodically, such as weekly or after significant usage, to eliminate any excess contamination and maintain water clarity.
For specific dose rates, refer to the following guidelines based on the size of your hot tub or pool:
– Medium hot tub (1,000 litres of water): 2g to increase chlorine by 1mg/l (ppm) or 6g to increase by 3mg/l (ppm)
– Large hot tub (1,500 litres of water): 3g to increase chlorine by 1mg/l (ppm) or 9g to increase by 3mg/l (ppm)
– Small pool (40,000 litres of water): 80g to increase chlorine by 1mg/l (ppm) or 240g to increase by 3mg/l (ppm)
– Medium pool (60,000 litres of water): 120g to increase chlorine by 1mg/l (ppm) or 360g to increase by 3mg/l (ppm)
– Large pool (80,000 litres of water): 160g to increase chlorine by 1mg/l (ppm) or 480g to increase by 3mg/l (ppm)
Don’t compromise on the safety and cleanliness of your pool or spa. Trust these high-quality chlorine granules to keep your water pristine, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable experience every time you take a dip. With their long-lasting effects and easy application, these granules are a valuable addition to your pool maintenance routine.
Manufacturers description:
These chlorine granules are one of the most popular products for ensuring pool and spa water is safe and bacteria free.
Apply regularly to achieve the recommended free chlorine level of 3-5 mg/l (ppm) for hot tubs or 1-3 mg/l (ppm) for swimming pools. These granules are rapid dissolving, long lasting and have little effect on the pH of the water. They are suitable for shock dosing small above ground pools. You can find dosing amounts below.
Subject to availability these may be sent in multiples of smaller tubs, from 1Kg to 25Kg tubs.
Key Features
Granular chlorine has little effect on the pH level of the water. These stabilised chlorine granules are ideal for regular dosing of your swimming pool or spa, to produce free active chlorine which kills bacteria and other potentially harmful organisms.
Application Instructions
1. Maintain pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6. If outside this range please use our PH plus or PH minus products to adjust for the best results.
2. Maintain free chlorine residuals for spas within the range 3 – 5mg/l (ppm). For swimming pools it should be 1 – 3mg/l (ppm). Freshly filled spas require an initial shock or start up dose of chlorine: 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.
3. This product may be applied directly to pools or spas where temperatures exceed 20 degrees C. If below this temperature or in doubt it is recommended to pre-dissolve in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 10g of product per 0.2 gallons (1ltr) in water. Stir well to ensure product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the spa or pool whilst the pumps are turned ‘on’.
4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve the required levels.
5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly or after heavy spa use) shock dose your spa to eliminate any excess contamination.
Dose Rates
Medium hot tub 1,000 litre (220 Gallons) of water requires 2g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 6g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)
Large hot tub 1,500 litre (330 Gallons) of water requires 3g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 9g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)
Small pool 40,000 litres of water requires 80g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 240g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)
Medium pool 60,000 litres of water requires 120g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 360g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)
Large pool 80,000 litres of water requires 160g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 480g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)
