I am not a HVAC specialist, hence this review is just my opinion is based on the short experience I had with this Nest Sensor. I bought this sensor because my two level home has different levels of heatcold setup. So, had installed this inside an air duct in my upper level master bedroom, so my HVAC unit can work off it in the nights when we sleep in that bedroom. But, it seems the NEST Thermostat unit at times used to not read this sensor correctly. Hence, eventually decided to return it. Again, this was my experience and hence am not recommending this sensor, others might have been satisfied with it. Thanks.

After having purchased the Nest thermostat, I still felt like we were missing some needed functionality to take full advantage of the smart in the smart thermostat. A year later, I can attest that these are a must buy for any Nest thermostat purchase. Our thermostat runs much more efficiently in our trilevel home, automatically switching between sensors throughout the day to ensure we are not wasting any energy to heatcool rooms we dont care about.

Purchased when we added a Nest Smart Thermostat. The thermostat is in a hallway and the temperature sensor is in the master bedroom, which is no where near the thermostat. The sensor works great to keep the bedroom temperature regulated. It was quick and easy to set up.

I purchased 2 of these sensors with a Nest Gen 3 Learning Thermostat, thinking I would be able to have my 3story home heatedcooled based on a combination of the 3 units. Unfortunately, I didnt do all of my homework before buying the sensors, and I late found out that the thermostat can only heatcool the house based on the sensing of only one unit at a time. So, my themostat is on my main floor, and I have a sensor in my basement, and one on the second floor. I can only run my heaterAC based on one of the sensors. Like in the winter, if my basement is colder, I would set my system to heat based on the basement sensor or thermostat on the main floor. And in the summer, I would cool my home based based on the second floor sensor or thermostat on the main floor. But it wont equalize my temperatures in the entire home based on the readings of all 3.

Wow Nest just keeps impressing me I loved my Nest 3rd Generation Thermostat and other products already but we have a couple rooms that are used frequently and are hard to keep the correct temp. This product does the trick. It was installed in a very short time and I can control them I purchased three for my home and may get one or two more with my iPhone or iPad. It could be simpler to operate. And you have the option to put them up on the wall with the provided screws OR you can simply place the cute little Nest on a shelf or a dresser wherever you like. Its a little guy only about the size if a hockey puck approximately. It fits in the palm of your hand with room to spare. Its amazing My home office is COMFORTABLE to work in all day. I can save money and lower the temp in THAT room. You can set timers for each device if you wish. Trust me. This is a game changer in our lives
